It’s 3:00 am – in the middle of the night. Suddenly there’s the high-pitched squeal of a fire alarm going off in your home. What do you do? What would your kids do? During those next few minutes, what you and your family do can make the difference between life and death – literally. If you don’t already have a Fire Escape Plan for your home, now is the time to get one done.
We have put together a Fire Safety Booklet (below) to make it easy for you to create a Fire Escape Plan for your family as well as some fun activities for kids too. Print it out and plan a meeting with your family to go over it or use it for your next FHE. Then make sure to practice it – role play that there is an alarm going off and what you will do. And practice it often so that it becomes like second nature.
