From the time your smoke alarm sounds, you have two minutes to rush to the nearest exit and GET OUT. Two minutes doesn’t leave time to gather belongings or search through the house for people or things. Two minutes is only enough time to get yourself up and out. Therefore, everyone in the house must be well-versed on the family fire escape routes, can exit the home quickly, and can make it to the family meeting place outside and in front of the home.
